Umlaut features polk rock accordion Wunderkind Jüppchen von Umlaut, with brothers Fritz on vocals and guitar and Günther on vocals and cello. They immigrated as children, earning their passage from the old country on a barge of fermenting cabbage by entertaining the crew with the polkas of their homeland. After being turned away by their former countrymen the Von Trapps in Stowe, they settled in Plainfield, Vermont in the 1970s, where they have executed a successful musical career ever since.
